Apostolos Andreas Monastery is situated on the eastern tip of the Karpaz peninsular and is dedicated to Saint Andrew (Apostle Andreas). He was the first person to be called for induction to priesthood by Christ. Both Turks and Greeks consider the monastery a holy place; it is visited by many people for votive prayers.

Ayios Philon Church was constructed on ruins dating from the Hellenistic and Roman periods and was named after Philon, the saint who converted the people of Karpaz to Christianity in the 4th century. The ruined church features a courtyard surrounded with columns with colourful mosaics on the floor and is located next to a picturesque small bay that was used as a harbour by the Romans. There is a delightful small hotel and bar overlooking the bay and a short walk away you will find a long unspoilt sandy beach with never more than a handful of people enjoying its delights.
